I'll Never Tell... Except Here
Sometimes I get so caught up in a blog that, before I know it, I've read it from start to finish. The upside to this is that I can convince myself that I have indeed read a book this summer. The downside is that a blog is so obviously not a book. Maybe to our generation...
On that note, the latest blog book that I've been reading is "Hear Everything, Say Nothing," a dishy insider blog that chronicles a high school grad's summer spent interning. Reading about her makes me feel like I happened upon a fabulous stranger's diary. I feel as though I shouldn't be reading such a personal take on the fascinating fashion industry, but I can't stop myself from obsessively checking for new posts chapters.
Between her two internships - one for a model casting director, the other for Teen Vogue - this girl manages to chronicle her unimaginable experiences while remaining candid and down to earth. Memorable observations include...
... "Kate [Bosworth], James [Kate's boyfriend], their friend and I chatted about accents, arctic monkeys, age, meeting people, and threw things. Truely lovely lovely people."
... "I received: a kiss from Agyness Dean, a wave from Coco Rocha, smiles from various models, and a mini gift bag."
... At the Costume Institute Gala, saw "Mary Kate O generously sharing her marlboro reds to anyone who asked" and "Marc Jacobs grabbing Tom Ford's butt and saying 'WE DONT GET YOUNGER, TOM.'"
So convince yourself that you're reading a hipster-infused Gossip Girl installment - online, since it is 2007 - and don't feel guilty for spending two hours clicking through four months of blog archives.
Can't get enough of Tess? You can also find her on Radar, Fashionista, COACD, Imaginary Socialite, and The Cobra Snake if you're into that kind of thing (which, sadly, I am).
